Hatap had a “uncanny knowledge” of the black arts (magic) which he used to claim the throne of Egypt. He was almost captured during a battle against his rival. He drunk a potion to enter suspended animation, a death-like state. Cleopatra buried him in the tomb Hatap had prepared for himself. He was awakened by an archeological expedition in 1963. Hatap used his magic powers to time travel back to his original era. He took along Tony Stark, thinking he could use a technical advisor of such skill.
Hatap regrouped his forces against Cleopatra. Stark, as Iron Man switched sides towards Cleopatra. Hatap lost his final battle. He accidentally fell on a grounded sword. This time he was really dead. Iron Man returned back to 1963.
