19-year-old Hideki goes to cram school and works part-time at Club Pleasure while he studies to get into college. He desperately wants a ‘persocom’ but can’t afford one, so when he finds Chi in the garbage, it’s a dream come true. He doesn’t know much about computers, so he relies on his friends Shimbo and Minoru to help him learn about Chi. People are always telling him he’s a nice guy, but as Minoru points out, at the end of the day, Hideki’s the guy who goes home without a date. Â
