The Basics
Before I start talking about Judar I need to explain the world of Magi. I didn’t include a key terms section because these terms need a little bit more elaboration. As the header suggests I plan to enlighten people about how the world of Magi works. The first system I will be introducing will be the Rukth. What is Rukth? The answer is a little bit more complicated. One definition of Rukth is that it is the flow of destiny. Rukth is not only that. Rukth also controls the flow of souls. It is a continuous cycle. Rukth controls all aspects of one’s existence.
Another basic of Magi is Magoi. Magoi is directly linked to Rukth. Here is Judar himself explaining what Magoi is. This allows users to generate very powerful types of magic. The types of magic include natural elements like Fire, Thunder, lighting, ice, and light magic just to name a few. I know what came to your head when I mention “light magic”. Is this natural light? Does it move at the speed of light? Well luckily for Judar Magoi is one hundred percent natural. It causes natural events. This is explicitly stated. So, the authenticity of all of these magic is not up for debate. The people who use magic bend nature itself to their will. That again proves Magoi is natural. However, everyone has a limited amount of Magoi they can draw upon. Everyone….. except Judar of course. Okay, more specifically everyone has a limited amount of Magoi except for all of the Magi. I will put it bluntly. Magi have an infinite supply of Magoi at their disposal. They can draw upon the rukth in the surrounding area. In some cases (as you will see later) they can drain the Magoi from another person leaving them powerless. One of the categories of Magoi is life magic. This means that without it you die. Keep this in mind for later. The final and most important thing for Judar…. Black Rukth!
Black Rukth is the polar opposite of regular Rukth. Black Rukth is the result of someone cursing their own fate. Their Rukth becomes black and changes into Black Rukth. When this happens they are then referred to as fallen. They fall into depravity. A better way to describe this is that Black Rukth is regular Rukth but negative. Now, Black Rukth allows for the user to have certain abilities. The first power it grants is the power for the user to “defy” fate itself. This is stated that when Judar battled Aladdin he used his Fate manipulation to make it where Aladdin was going to die. Fate manipulation sound kind of weird for Judar? Not to worry characters such as Sinbad have been able to manipulate it for a while. There are A LOT more instances of this happening. I won’t bring them up unless needed, however, as you get my point. Another perk of being fallen is that you become completely immune to Mind manipulation. Finally, because of Black Rukth the user can inflict a curse onto whoever they deem it necessary. This curse uses one’s power to kill them. This is demonstrated here.
This is just the basics. If more elaboration is necessary I will be happy to provide it. Let’s move on to talking about Judar.
The Master of Magic
With the basics out of the way, we can finally start discussing Judar’s standing in the verse. I will start off by discussing his magic. Judar is a master of Magic. He was exceptional at magic from a young age as we see in the Sinbad no Bouken spinoff. However, his skill with magic only gets better as the series goes on. For even after mastering his best type of magic ice magic (we will get to that) he then masters all the other types of Magic in the world after absorbing the Medium.
In the previous section, I mentioned Magoi and the types of magic right? Well, thanks to absorbing the medium he now has mastery over all the other types of Rukth. Which allows him basically endless amounts of spells. Having infinite Magoi means he can use all of the spells he wants with no cost. Pretty sweet right? Want to hear something else that is cool? Thanks to a spell known as Borg Judar doesn’t need any type of physical durability. You see a Borg is a defensive spell that immediately activates when any type of Malice is placed against the user of it. This is like a bubble. Getting through this bubble is not an easy task. This bubble protects the magician that uses it from the following:
- Physical Attacks – Shown Multiple Times
- Mental Attacks – Shown against Zagan’s mental attack against Aladdin
- Curses – Shown when Aladdin blocked the curse seen in the basics section.
- Magic – Shown when Judar’s borg blocked his attack being shot right back at him.
This defense is just as good as any offense Judar can muster. It has also been shown to take attacks that are above his paygrade. This is shown when it takes an attack from Abra (the strongest Magican in the world at the time). This is really impressive as Abra scales above the likes of Sinbad. I will talk more about him in my next section. Moving on from Borg we have some of Judar’s offensive spells. The first and debately best of his magic techniques:
Isolation Barrier
This barrier completely power nulls all people inside it. This was used to power null Abra. It does prevent Judar from doing anything inside the barrier as well. Note: This would only work in an Energy Equal setting as it only power nulls Magic users.
Sarg Arsarros
These pillars of ice are shot by Judar which freezes whatever is hit by them instantly. This is one of Judar’s favorites. Here is the close quarter’s version.
Thag Alsalos
This attack instantly freezes who it is hit by it. This includes internally freezing them.
lll-Ramz-Al Salos
This creates lightning magic that dwarfs entire mountains.
Judar has some other specific types of magic but for now, I just went over the main types.
