Kal was created by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard. His first appearance was in Image‘s The Walking Dead #95 – A Larger World, Part Three.

Both he and Eduardo keep watch over the community’s entrance with the aid of spears, possibly due to the lack of ammo.
