Louis XIII was married to Anne of Austria. They were parents to two sons, most prominently Louis XIV. He never had mistresses but had a number of male favorites, probably lovers. Louis, Anne and Richelieu appeared prominently in “Three Musketeers”(1844)Â and make frequent appearances in fiction, in sequels, adaptations and parodies of the work.
