Origins
Shigeru Ezaki also known as Mace is a very powerful bio engineer cyborg formally from the Sunrise Society, a group of tech-armored soldiers lead by his “Brother” from where he escaped. Mace in his escape showed very fancy acrobatic skills; he also showed to be a great strategist and marksman and uses his surrounding very well due to his ninja training in the Sunrise Society. Mace has a healing factor similar to Wolverine and uses a mace along with a plasma blaster than can only be fired by himself.
Venom: The Mace. Part 1/3:
It is shown that while he was escaping his power source was dropping in energy which meant he needed to find a safe spot. Coincidentally he found himself among a few desperate men who were being abused by land sharks. They could not protect themselves well enough, and were on the path to asking for help. In desperation they decided to hire a hero to take care of the problem, at that very moment Mace’s cloaking device fails and he makes the announcement that he was willing to take the job for food, shelter and a pair of sunglasses which he took from one of the leaders of the group of homeless people.
Although they were not pleased and found Mace to be more of a bounty hunter than a Hero, they decided to hire him and he became quite useful. Even though they did not like his ways, they still couldn’t deny he was a huge help, taking down the land sharks and getting them out of the abandoned building. This would eventually be trouble, for unbeknown to Mace, Venom protected those land sharks without realizing they were not as humbled as they looked.
Mace soon got a ride with Beck, Eddie Brock‘s girlfriend at the time. Mace shares the information with Beck that the group which he attacked (Protected by Venom) were the ones who terrorized the poor people in the other side of town. Arriving at the drop point Mace gets off Beck‘s car without realizing that Venom was waiting for him with open arms. Not very friendly open arms at that.
Beck tries to explain to Venom that Mace is the actual good guy but being a stubborn creature Venom clouds Eddie Brock‘s judgment and cuts Beck‘s statement short as he interrupts her by filling in a death sentence to Mace. Beck tries and tries and finally manages to get Eddie to remove the symbiote from his head, for it frightens her. A mistake that could have been the death of Brock since Mace was aiming his cannon at the temple of the lethal assassin.
Venom: The Mace part: 2/3: Fatal Flaw
Beck was filling in Venom/Eddie on the situation trying to explain that Mace was not the enemy. All of a sudden she notices Mace trying to shoot Eddie‘s head off! Beck warns Eddie and the
symbiotic arachnid manages to dodge two projectiles , thanks to Beck. Venom is then hit by Mace‘s automatic shotgun! It seems useless against the powerful symbiote though, and is an utter failure on Mace’s behalf. Mace is forced to recur to his invisibility, but Venom is not impressed since he could also become invisible. But it didn’t matter for what Mace saw as a curse became his blessing, his eyes are able to spot the invisible venom with his infrared vision. But Mace didn’t count on Venom‘s reflexes and speed which became a factor in his survival against the cybernetic “hero.”
Venom quickly realized it was useless to be invisible and decided to become visible and hunt down the invisible Mace with his tendrils and manage to corner Mace, whom he addresses as “Villain.” Mace luckily manage to escape and hide in the bushes which lead for Venom to look for him and fall into a trap, Mace uses his mace weapon and stabbed the symbiotic arachnid.
Venom soon manages to take the mace of his chest which didn’t cost enough damage, but stalled the beast for long enough for Mace to reach his cannon. Mace then shot Venom with a heat blast and realized that heat made the symbiote retreat from the affected area and tried to shoot the shotgun at Eddie‘s revealed chest, but failed for Venom was too fast. But he was also cornered against a dead end with little room to move which made the creature play defensive.. A terrible mistake which lead Mace to burn through and weaken the symbiote with the thermal cannon.
Beck worried about Mace killing Venom, and her lover she cried pleading Mace not to pull the trigger right before the sunrise society arrive bombing the location hurting Beck on the way. Venom blamed Mace for Beck‘s condition but soon the leader of the evil society searching for Mace arrives and opts to ash everything on his way.. That is if Venom and Mace don’t have anything to say in the matter.
Venom: The Mace part 3/3.
Several soldiers of the Sunrise Society arrive bringing war with them, Mace and Venom teamed up trying to protect the ones around them and defend Beck‘s honor. Mace realizes that while Venom is powerful, the Sunrise Society‘s lasers and the before battle against Mace had him weakened, not to mention the Sunrise Society‘s samurai were invisible which lead Mace to use his thermal vision to spot them and battle against them, even saving Venom’s life warning him about a clocked samurai haunting him while at it.
Mace and Venom teamed up against the several soldiers and help each other back to back, but also Venom’s main priority was Beck whom he decided to protect and leave the rest to the “hero for hire”
Mace is suddenly struck by the leader of the Sunrise Society and smite but then all the sudden Mace uses a familiar trick while hiding on the bushes, he stabbed the mace on the leader’s abdomen taking him down. Mace then takes out the leader’s helmet revealing later that they were cybernetic twin brothers. (Not real twins they just look the same. Mace reveals that “There are many more like him back home“)
