Origin
The Mask is the first villain of the Three Comrades. He had kidnapped a wealthy woman named Edith Wayne for a ransom and ended up with a ransom of 25,000 on himself. While captured Edith wrote on some money in shorthand where she was being held and when the money was stolen one of the hoods spent it on gambling. That is when Lucky won the money and with the help of Cal Collins and Books, discovered what the writing said. The three as a newly formed team (Three Comrades) went to rescue Edith Wayne.

The three found where she was being held but, Lucky and Books were captured. In Cal’s attempt to rescue Edith and his friends he unintentionally attracts the police. Mask leaves the hideout in his getaway car, and Cal jumps in the car from the building. He then turns the wheel into the bay and captures the Mask. Cal turn’s down the reward after developing feelings for Edith.
