Matt McGinnis first appeared in the Batman Beyond episode ”Rebirth: part 1” voiced by Ryan O’Donochue.
After his father Warren was killed by Derek Powers‘ muscle man, Mr. Fixx, Terry went to live with Matt and their mother. Matt often annoys his brother who eventually became the new Batman who Matt idolizes so much.
