Merryweather along with the other two good fairies help Sleeping Beauty throughout the story. Merryweather had to change her “gift” to the Sleeping Beauty so she could save her life, so in order to do this she changes the spell a bit. (She doesn’t have the power to break the spell completely.) Instead of death, slumber will come until “true love’s kiss” happens.
