Olvido

Origin

Like the other Children of the Vault, Olvido (Spanish for “the void’) was neither a Homo superior (mutant) nor Homo sapiens sapiens (regular human being) but the member of a completely different human species that has evolved biologically, culturally, and technologically over the course of six thousand years. His people’s advanced technology allowed him to have superhuman abilities in the form of a special suit he wore, once the battery ran out, however, he’d be powerless.

Olvido was a part of the strike force tasked with apprehending Luz under orders by Corregidora. This team came into direct confrontation with the X-Men, and Olvido him self squared off against Magneto. Despite Magnetos reputation and power, Olvido’s abilities and mysteriousness allowed him an advantage against the master of magnetism as he absorbed and redirected an opposing anti matter energy projection against Magneto’s own energy attack, neutralizing him. Later on when Olvido prepared to try and similar move, Anole in stealth knocked him out.

Creation

Olvido was created by writer Mike Carey, and artist Clay Mann and first appeared in the X-Men Legacy (#238) book.

Powers and Abilities

Olvido has a physical connection to an antimatter Universe allowing him to absorb energy attacks and react be returning a negatively charged version of the energy attack he absorbed. He was able to use this to great effect against Magneto. Olvido also has super strength, the ability to see all of the visual spectrum and is fluent in English and Spanish.
