Pop Fenton is the owner of Fogwell’s Gym where he used to train Battling Murdock as a boxer. He’s an old friend of Matt Murdock and even helped Daredevil take down a criminal named Kragg and the Phoenix Mob. Pop Fenton would reunite with Kid Gawaine who used to be an aspiring boxer at the gym and needed Murdock’s legal advice. A young boxer named Juan Aponte was fighting as a bantamweight but wanted to fight as a heavyweight to make more money. He went to Dr. Jakkelburr who discovered the secret of duplicating the process that created the first Crusher. Juan’s size increased but their was indications of side effects like personality changes and fits of temper. Juan would transform into the Crusher and fight Daredevil. During the fight, a whole wall was going to fall onto Father Gawaine and Pop Fenton. The Crusher threw his body between the wall and its almost targets. Juan reverted back to his human form and died in the hands of Pop Fenton. Â
