Pops is the sole son and heir of Mr. Maellard, and despite working along Benson as a park manager, he mostly acts as a groundkeeper. Even though he’s older than almost everyone else in the staff, he has the behavior and the sight of a little kid, due to an accident where he is ran over by a time-travelling park’s team (even Pops himself) when they were being chased by The Master Prank Caller (as seen in the “Prank Callers” episode). Despite acting as a kid, he expresses himself as an upright gentleman, talking in a pretty formal manner and respecting the etiquette. He is arguably the most beloved worker among the staff, perhaps due to him being always in a good mood, and even does his best to help out the eternal troublemakers Mordecai and Rigby in dire situations.
