As pupil of Black Lama he didn’t want been considered as a failure. Raga responded in the only way he knew: with anger.
Origin
George Friedrich fell in love with an Indian woman who was an exchange student in America. However, her emotions did not match George Fiedrich. The girl returned to India without Friedrich. Desperately in love, George followed her to India and began a desperate search to find her. For months he bounced and jolted through back roads unmeant for a coughing auto. Finding that the woman was already married, Friedrich exploded, lashing into incredible savagery. He allowed absolute nothing to hinder the venting of his rage. The girl rose in defense of her husband. Finally he murdered her husband and the girl.
The Black Lama eventually found Friedrich and convinced the man to train with him to channel his rage and use it to rule the world. Long months and years of training followed. Spectacular were their ventures into the Occult Realms. Training the inner meditation needed to reach the volcanic fires raging in your soul. When he was prepared he received a hallowed uniform and a name: Raga, which means “Desire Flame”. And that time he made a solemn vow: Join Black Lama’s World wide web of pupils set to act all at one time trying for take over the world.
Creation
Raga was created by Mike Friedrich and George Tuska, first appearing in Iron Man #52. His name was devised from the combination of the two creator’s names, with Raga’s first-name being taken from George Tuska and his surname coming from Mike Friedrich.
Major Story Arcs
Raga: Son of Fire
Raga begun training his own apprentices in the Red Forest and teached them all of The Black Lama‘s teachings. However, one of his apprentices, named Cynthia Chong, fell in love with a forest-ranger. It lead Raga believing she has betrayed his trust. Raga attempted to kill Cynthia but he was stopped by Iron Man which lead to a brutal fight.
The Black Lama later intervened in the fight and aided Raga by causing him to grow in size. However, Iron Man ultimately defeated Raga, which resulted in The Black Lama abandoning Friedrich. Raga soon losed control of his powers and is ultimately crushed by rocks when he causes the cliff he is standing on to plummet into the sea.
Powers and Abilites
- Fire Control — By channelling his emotions, Raga was able to generate great heat and thus cause fires.
- Sharp Points of Excruciating Pain — the victim struggle fades, his eyes misting like the clouds… and then pain provokes screams.
