Due to recent mutations and deformities in marine life Professor Jack Finney began to investigate sewage run-off believing it to be the culprit, little did he realize just how right he was when he was exposed to mutagen and his DNA reshaped itself to combine traits of his human genetics with that of the last animal he had come into contact with, a manta-ray. Now he was Man-Ray and he used his newfound power to stop the man responsible for the polution, Shredder, and his henchmen Bebop and Rocksteady. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were initially unaware of who was responsible for foiling Shredder’s plans, but later met Man-Ray and teamed up with him to take on a cyborg whaler named Captain Mossback, together the TMNT and Man-Ray defeated the poacher, protecting a species of sentient fish creatures known as the Glublubs. Man-Ray would later be part of stopping an alien invasion by Maligna which led to the formation of the Mighty Mutanimals, a team which he was leader of.
