Grand Admiral Thrawn is a Chiss from the planet Csilla and the only non-human to reach the Imperial navy’s highest rank of Grand Admiral. He was the last Grand Admiral promoted by Emperor Palpatine. Emperor Palpatine was forced to keep Thrawn’s promotion to Grand Admiral a secret for quite a long time due to the Empire’s prejudice towards aliens.
