Like Midge, Ruth likes nothing more than to rib Kay about her relationship with Roy Wakefield. The girls just want Kay to dump him since he can never stick to a wedding date. Ruth takes it one step further, however, by setting Kay up on a blind date. Kay gets angry when Midge gets married first so she breaks up with Roy. Ruth comforts her and explains that she’ll set Kay up with a guy named Michael Dodd the very next evening. Ruth gets nervous later on when it seems that Kay is leading this new guy on and she warns Kay that Michael is pretty high strung. She is appalled to hear that Michael goes crazy after Kay refuses to marry him and drives the two off a bridge. Ruth finds Roy and explains to him of her meddling and convinces him to take Kay back. She is happy to see that Roy does.
