While in New York, Blue Beetle sees a fuzzy image racing across the rooftops, and, hoping to get a better understanding of a metahuman existence, races after him. However, when he witnesses him passing through the roof of a jewelry store to steal diamonds, Blue Beetle steps in to stop him. During the fight, he knocks off his helmet to reveal that he is only a kid, but Short-Timer escapes soon afterwards. He returns to Stopwatch, the man who made the suit, and discovers that the suit has greatly aged him.
