Origin
Yo-Yo Rodriguez is a young teen who was recruited by Daisy Johnson to join Nick Fury’s Secret Warriors. She was trained for a number of months under Nick Fury and Daisy Johnson who acted as team leader. Yo-Yo first appeared with the Secret Warriors as Slingshot during the Skrull invasion.
Creation
Slingshot was created by Brian Bendis and Alex Maleev and first appeared in Mighty Avengers #13.
Major Story Arcs
Nick Fury: Agent of Nothing
During dinner at a Chinese restaurant her teammate Alex (Phobos) revealed to her and the other members their future. Yo-Yo is told that she will get hurt badly during a mission.
Yo-Yo and her new team go on to engage HYDRA during various recon missions for Nick Fury. During a mission briefing, Daisy tells the team that HYDRA has secretly controlled SHIELD for decades and that Baron Strucker and a number of powerful HYDRA agents have resurfaced. Their next mission is to beat HYDRA to a quarantine facility called Red Worm which was SHIELD’s dirty little secret: a center for intelligence gathering. The team reach the containment facility located in Zzyzx, California but are too late and discover that HYDRA and the Gorgon are already there. As they witness the Gorgon killing numerous PSI-Agents, Daisy commands the team to engage. Kraken teleports the prisoners back to Gehenna but Gorgon decides to stay. During the battle, Gorgon ends up cutting off both of Yo-Yo’s hands when she tries to help Hellfire and the Druid. Stonewall grabs Yo-Yo and the team retreats. They end up in one of Fury’s hidden bases where she gets immediate medical attention. Her teammate Jerry stays by her side as she recovers from her traumatic injuries.
Yo-Yo recovers and receives cybernetic arms to replace her missing limbs. Yo-Yo and the rest of the Secret Warriors quickly come into conflict with Norman Osborn and members of his Dark Avengers when they discover one of Fury’s secret bases. Yo-Yo is ready for some action and speeds into the fray. Yo-Yo beats down on Bullseye after he shoots Stonewall from behind. She next makes a trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico with Jerry and visits her mother whom she has not seen in quite some time. Yo-Yo tells Jerry she was so glad to see her mom again and that it felt so good to feel human again. Yo-Yo drives Jerry to the Lacoochee Supermax Prison to meet his super villain father, Crusher Creel, aka the Absorbing Man.
Siege: Secret Warriors
In Siege: Secret Warriors, Nick Fury, Yo-Yo and the rest of the Secret Warriors join up with Steve Rogers and members of the New Avengers. Together they repel incoming HAMMER agents and return to the Avengers safehouse in Brooklyn. They learn about the assault on Thor and Asgard by the Initiative and prepare to strike back. Yo-Yo and the rest of the Secret Warriors aid Thor and the Asgardians against Norman Osborn’s assault. When Osborn’s reign comes to an end, Nick Fury along with the rest of the Secret Warriors decide not to stay and fall back to their secret base and continue to fight Hydra.
Powers and Abilities:
Yo-Yo has super speed and is well trained in hand-to-hand combat. Her primary weapon is a bo staff.

Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez is a colombian inhuman who underwent Terrigenesis during the Inhuman Outbreak. She started as a rebel against the political system and police in Colombia, putting her at odds with S.H.I.E.L.D until she was recruited to became part of The Secret Warriors (A Inhuman Task Force). She eventually became an official member of S.H.I.E.L.D. and started a romantic relationship with Alphonso “Mack” Mackenzie.
After she returned from the future (The team traveled to 2091, where they discovered that Earth will be destoyed), she engaged Ruby, daughter of Hydra’s General Hale, and both her arms where cut. Her limbs were replace by cybernetic arms (She gain strenght above an average human, along with her speed).
She is portrayed by Natalia Cordova-Buckley.

The web serie that followed Elena, talking place during the middle of Season Four.
She must sign the Sokovia Accords, but the it´s limitations put her at odd with a personal mission she is willing to fulfill, and bring some tension with S.H.I.E.L.D.
Natalia Cordova-Buckley reprised her role.
