Stella was a normal girl majoring in math at college when she saw her astronomy professor being bombarded with cosmic rays from his experimental tachyon telescope. Stella pushed him out of the way to save him but took the full force of the stellar radiation and was transformed into a human pulsar. Naming herself Starlight she used her power to manipulate and project various electromagnetic energies as a member of Shadow Cabinet.
