Scientist Steven Caccone was obsessed with perfecting the process of cloning, even continuing his experiments in his home laboratory after losing his job. He neglected his family, driving his teenage son Ralph Caccone to join a street gang. One night, after Steven fell asleep in his laboratory, his wife Janice Caccone angrily attempted to destroy his work by dumping all of his animal-tissue samples into his chemical vat. This resulted in the creation of The Night Creature, a monstrous composite of all the animals those samples were taken from. The creature killed Steven immediately after coming to life.
