Sweep is the best friend of Sooty in the various incarnations of children’s television’s Sooty shows. The naughtiest of the puppets and often getting into mischief, Sweep is nevertheless never mean or nasty. Unlike the silent Sooty and clearly and politely spoken Soo, he only “speaks” in squeaks, not unlike the noise a kazoo makes. Despite this, his friends and whichever human is working with them always understands him clearly.
