Avar Kriss was a Human Female Jedi Master in charge of Starlight Beacon during the High Republic era.
Padawan Years
Growing up in the Jedi temple on Coruscant, Avar Kriss was part of a trio of promising jedi padawans consisting of herself, Elzar Mann and Stellan Gios. During these years she grew very close to fellow padawan Elzar Mann.
The Great Disaster
At the time of the Great Disaster Avar Kriss had become a Jedi Master, and personally led the jedi contingent in the rescue operation in the Heztal System. As part of this operation, Avar used her unique form of battle meditation to link together all the jedi in the system and coordinate them in rescuing both the civilians on Hetzal and those in the fragments from the Legacy’s Run. Her network would play an important part in averting the course of fuel cannister hurtling towards the sun. In doing so, saving the Hetzal system.
She would later in conjunction with jedi knight Elzar Mann travel across the galaxy in an effort to solve the mystery of how the Legacy Run was destroyed in hyperspace.
As a result of her efforts, and the demise of the previous suitable appointment. Avar was instated as the first Marshall of Starlight Beacon, the republics station in the Outer Rim.
Rise of the Drengir and The Hutt Cartel
As Marshall of Starlight Beacon, Avar was responsible for the oversight of the dead hutt carcass discovered by the jedi team led by Master Sskeer and Knight Trennis.
She later travelled to the moon Sedri Minor where she along with Keeve Trennis, Skeer, and twin jedi Teret and Ceret faced off against a Drengir infestation. During this conflict, Master Sskeer fell under their influence which resulted in Avar and the other jedi becoming capture by the Drengir. That is until Trennis, Sskeer’s former apprentice convinced him otherwise.
After defeating the drengir on Sedri Minor, Avar and the other Jedi encountered the Hutt Cartel lead by Myarga the Hutt who claimed Sedri minor as their property.
This escalated into a conflict between the two forces as Master Sskeer attacked Myarga after losing control to the Drengirs influence. However after the Drengir renewed their attack on both forces, Avar managed to convince Myarga to join forces against the Drengir. After defeating the drengir presence on the planet Sedri Minor, Avar Kriss would form an open alliance with the Hutt Cartel in an effort to combat the arising drengir infestations in the outer rim.
This effort recruited numerous Jedi and would result in a final battle on the drengir homeworld of Mulita, where the Great Progenitor, the origin of the species existed. Only through a cumulative effort on the part of all the Jedi on Mulita, and the Hutts that they would
Following her escape, the jedi would erect a containment field that trapped the Great Progenitor rendering it incapable of communicating with the various other spores located throughout the outer rim.
