Aven is a member of the Inhumans and was responsible for taking care of the royal sceptre inside the royal treasury. He is struck from behind from an assailant with great speed and the royal sceptre was stolen. Aven felt that no kindness or aid was deserved for losing the sceptre. He told Gorgon and Karnak that the last thing he saw was a blue streak leaving the treasury with the sceptre. The Inhumans suspected Quicksilver as the one who attacked Aven and stole the sceptre. Quicksilver was confronted by numerous members of the Inhumans but managed to escape. Quicksilver led the Inhumans to the real culprit which turned out to be Aireo, the Floating Man. Aireo was caught trying to sell the sceptre. Aireo threw the sceptre out the window and tried to escape. Quicksilver managed to catch the sceptre before it could shatter on the streets below and capture Aireo.
