Jedi Master Thon was of the Tchuukthai species. What appeared as just another wild beast or large lizard, was actually a respected and revered Jedi Master. He would often exploit his appearance to get the better of enemies. His most famous student was Nomi Sunrider, who would become one of the most respected Jedi Masters of the Old Republic. He first encountered Nomi not as a student, but as the wife of his student Andur Sunrider. Andur was killed by bounty hunters while bringing precious Adegan crystals to Master Thon. Adegan crystals were the most prized crystals that could be used in lightsaber construction. Nomi carried the crystals the rest of the way to Master Thon after her husbands death. He saw that Nomi was very strong in the Force herself and took her as a student. Eventually Master Thon would send Nomi to Ossus to complete her training under Master Vodo-Siosk Baas, who would teach her the art of lightsaber construction. Master Thon was a participant in the Great Sith War and was present at the Jedi Conclave and later at the final confrontation with Dark Lord of the Sith Exar Kun on the planet Yavin 4.
