Tom Cochrane was an ordinary man, he eventually made it to Kingpin‘s payroll. Tom Cochrane failed one task set to him by the Kingpin, due to Spider-Man‘s meddling. Tom knew what was to come next, and even his wife, Shelly Cochrane knew and accepted it. Though Kingpin sent some men to retrieve Tom, he disposed them and showed that he came willingly. While in the Kingpin’s office, he asked only one thing that his family would go unharmed. Kingpin then told him that the official story goes that Tom attacked him, and orders Tom to do it. Tom does as asked and Kingpin kills him.
