He is first portrayed as a worker at the United Nations and a romantic interest of Diana. She eventually does date him and the two become close though their interest never really proceeds beyond being friends. He also inadvertently followed her on a mission to Skartaris. In the story arc The Game of the Gods, he is a pivotal character and eventually his death is used to undo damage that has been done by drought across the world.
