Creation
Turtle made his debut in Legion of Super-Heroes #48 when he attempted to audition for the team. He was created by Jim Shooter and Francis Manapul.
History
Turtle was one of four (alongside Sizzle, Night Girl and Gazelle) who applied for membership in the Legion of Superheroes. During his try out, Turtle demonstrated his ability to take vast amounts of damage (with an assist from Sizzle). Although Turtle was not granted active membership in the Legion, he did impress the team enough to be offered membership in the newly created Legion Reserves.
Powers and Abilities
Turtle possesses a large degree of invulnerability to physical harm.
