Origin
He first appeared in issue 2311 of The Beano on November 1st 1986. His comic strip is being reprinted in the current issues of The Beano.
The comic strip follows the misfortunes of Calamity James (a pun on Calamity Jane) and his horrendous bad luck. He has a pet called Alexander Lemming who tries to keep him out of harms way and carries around some soothing ointment for whenever Calamity James gets hurt (which is always).
