Pilot the Tall introduces Cassius as a fallen Templar that betrayed his own, leading the rat invasion to destroy the Templar. In truth Cassius opposed the ascension of the Mouse King Icarus and may have slew his own brother for following such a tyrant. Pilot’s accusations of betraying the Templar are false as Pilot himself betrayed the Templar. He believes Pilot must pay the price for his treachery and rejects Karic as nothing more than a pawn. After Pilot’s death, Micah requests that Cassius train Karic to be a true Templar.
