Origin
“Clever” Dick was a genius inventor, despite being only a youth, though admittedly many of his creations backfired on him. His best friend, and frequent test victim, was his pet, Napoleon Dog.
Creation
Clever Dick was created by Leo Baxendale and debuted in Buster’s 7th February 1970 issue. He continued to appear in that title until January 1982, with only a break of a few months in late October 1979 through June 1980 marring an otherwise continuous run.
