T’Chanda, also known as Azzari the Wise, was a monarch of Wakanda and the Black Panther during World War II, he is the son of King M’Teli and his wife, Imandla.
T’Chanda was married to Queen Nanali, with whom he had two children: T’Chaka and S’Yan.
Creation

The character was first mentioned in Black Panther #1 (1976), written and illustrated by Jack Kirby, his name was Azzari the Wise, however, he only made one appearance in Fantastic Four Unlimited (1993), written by Roy Thomas. In that story, his name is said to be Chanda. He was later used by Reginald Hudlin in Black Panther (2005-2008) and Black Panther/Captain America: Flags of Our Fathers (2010), this time his name is spelled Azzuri. Another spelling used is Azzaria, which also came with a city named after him: Birnin Azzaria. Wakanda #5 (2023) establishes that his name is T’Chanda or Chanda and that Azzuri the Wise is his regnal name.
