Tumult

Origin

Tumult is a chimera of trickster gods summoned by Arakki mutant, Uqesh. He used his god summoning abilities to bring forth deities to lead the Arakki people, however, they ended up just taking advantage of them instead. Asking for their worship but giving nothing in return. During this time, tiny cults formed around each god, with Tumult’s first personal worshipper being Ora Serrata. When Ora Serrata replaced Uqesh as the “Chair of Law,” she had the gods summoned one by one to stand trial for taking advantage of them. Knowing that all the trials ended in death, Tumult found a new Krakoan mutant, Switch, to be its worshipper and fled Arakko to Krakoa to avoid judgement.

Tumult in Switch’s body

While on Krakoa, Tumult’s worshipper, Switch, began abusing his power to possess people, victimizing a number of mutants. This got the attention of Legion of X, who happened to also be requested by Ora Serrata to search for Tumult, not knowing of his connection to either Switch or Serrata. With the help of Blindfold, legionnaires Nightcrawler and Weaponless Zsen searched for the god on the astral plane.

Once found, Tumult admitted everything, first working with Ora Serrata to get her appointed as Chair of Law and then fleeing with Switch, throwing both of his worshippers under the bus. Seeing Tumult as a victim, the Legion allowed Tumult to switch places with Switch and allow Switch (as Tumult) stand trial back on Arakko instead.

Now, in Switch’s body, a free Tumult chose to leave the island.
