Vince Wolfe was formerly a newspaper reporter who quit to become a writer for a magazine dedicated to superheroes in order to impress a girlfriend. However this left him unfulfilled following a breakup, with his editor, Jack Nelson bumping him from a Superman story to a story about Aquaman. With his sisters help he set out to interview various people who had met Aquaman, but abandoned then following meeting a woman who retold the story of how Aquaman saved her from committing suicide. This story spurs Vince to leave the magazine to return to working in newspapers.
