Origin
Dario Cueto is the owner, boss and head of the Lucha Underground, an underground luchador fighting arena. Dario would form the Temple, a wrestling arena that would host the fights. Whilst entertaining and violent fighting, and shrewd business deals leading to profit, seem to be Dario’s main motivation in creating the Temple to house Lucha Underground, he also seems to have ulterior motives, of a somewhat more sinister and supernatural nature. After acquiring many luchador talents, Dario would entice the fighters of the Temple into putting on especially entertaining and violent fights, with money, and unique opportunities. His head office not located far from the ring, actually overlooking it, Dario is the sort of boss, that if a wrestling fight spills into his room, he will smile with glee and mix a cocktail so he can observe and appreciate the action up close.
Dario Cueto is not a fair and impartial boss or owner however. He has his own agenda, preferences and objectives. He has had feuds with of the Lucha Underground wrestlers, notable talent such as Mil Muertes, Catrina, Pentagon Jr, Johnny Mundo, Son of Havoc, Ivelisse and Angelico. However for every enemy he has had, he has also had an ally or enforcer to do his bidding. His most intimidating and monstrous enforce, actually being his very own brother, Matanza Cueto.
In their youth, as children, the two brothers were fond of games, and fun. They did not know their father, and their mother was abusive and violent. After one particularly brutal beating at the hands of their mother on Dario, Matanza would snap, and attack his mother with a heavy bronze bull statuette, in defense of Dario. Their abusive mother dead, Dario and Matanza were now free.

Character Evolution
Dario Cueto plays very much into the slick and evil boss archetype, albeit one that is so irredeemably corrupt, self serving, and greedy as to attract a certain amount of fandom despite being a villain.
