Darrk tries to kill Batman with a knife but Talia shoots Darrk to save Batman. Darrk staggers on his feet as he endures the pain of his gunshot wound not knowing that he is stumbling right into the path of a passing train called the Soom Express. Darrk is crushed beneath the railroad instantly.
Despite his treachery towards the Demon’s Head, Ra’s decided to resurrect Dr. Darrk through cybernetic enhancements and a synthetic version of the Lazarus Pit. After the destruction of Talia’s Leviathan cabal, Lord Death Man was captured by the League of Assassins and Darrk was put in charge of siphoning off Lord Death Man’s blood in order to decipher his bizarre form of immortality.
