Eddie Lawton was the brother of Floyd Lawton, who would later become Deadshot. As children, Eddie and Floyd were beaten regularly by their abusive father George, and neglected by their spiteful mother Genevieve. Eddie received the worst of the beatings, and Floyd decided to kill their father to stop him.
One day, when George was beating Eddie, Floyd was perched outside on a tree with a rifle, taking aim at George. But his aim missed and he accidentally killed his brother. The trauma of this incident led to Floyd’s resolve to never miss a shot again, and contributed to his self-loathing, self-destructive mindset.
