Epke Vrooman

Origin

Epke Vrooman was a dutch warlock. He was tried in Holland in 1883, but when they put the noose around his neck, he turned into a bundle of sticks and blew away. Discovered living in London, he fled from Edward Grey by ship. On the ship, Vrooman was approached by the seven disciples of Cedu-Barra to choose his body as the next vessel of their master. Before the written spells to resurrect their master were completed, Grey caught up with Vrooman’s ship, shot the disciples and drove one of the Lipu daggers into Vrooman’s chest. It pierced Cedu-Barra’s spirit, trapping him there. Vrooman’s inert body was guarded by a young woman who refused to pull the dagger from his body, though he begged her to do it.

Abe Sapien and the B.P.R.D. one day came to the island of Saint-Sébastien to recover the Lipu dagger (not knowing it trapped Cedu-Barra’s spirit in Epke Vrooman’s body) and dicovered the young woman was now an old woman, still guarding Epke Vrooman’s body. Abe Sapien battled the seven disciples. At that moment the dagger fell out of Vrooman’s body. The released Vrooman was defeated by the old woman.
