Abigail Bullion

Origin

The daughter of a refined woman from the East Coast of the United States and a miner situated in the American West. Her parents were estranged due to his search for gold, and she was raised in a sequence of boarding schools. Upon the death of her mother, she journeys to live with her father. At that point his mine is in disarray. Big Thunder Mountain is apparently fighting back by itself against the miners who try to dig deeper and deeper into the mountain in search of gold. At the same time the trains carrying the gold are under threat of being hijacked.

Creation

The character was created as the main character for the miniseries Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The character follows a general trend for Disney to create fictional properties related to specific theme park rides.

Background

After being captured by Willikers, Chandler and Abigail are led back into town. Meanwhile in the heart of the Big Thunder Mountain, Abigail’s father pleads with the workers that he has changed and that he now has the best interest of the town at heart. Onawa doesn’t believe him, but he is given a chance to prove himself as he is the only train engineer with enough know-how to get the train out of the mountain. Abigail discovers that her father is in the mountain and escapes from Willikers to the inside. She manages to find her own train and hooks it up to the now out-of-commission train that her father was driving. Shortly after they discover once again that they will not make it and decide to cut loose the carts containing the gold. Willikers fights back, threatening to shoot anyone that will do so, and orders the people off the train in order to save the weight. Onawa fights back against himself, as does the physical manifestation of the mountain, and Willikers is pulled to his death, but not before Onawa is also fatally wounded. The remaining passengers manage to escape the mountain, whereafter father and daughter reconcile. He tells her that being surrounded by a greedy person like Willikers made him greedy as well and he vows to change. He also tells her that he knew that she was responsible for the train robbery. As he leaves Abigail confronts Chandler, who reveals that his first name is Jason. The two share a kiss.

Powers and Abilities

Abigail is a regular human with no superpowers. She has proven to have excellent agility on numerous occasions, as well as the ability to think on her feet with ingenious solutions. She is also an excellent horsewoman, having competed in steeplechases, and having performed acrobatics on horseback while competing.

Her horse Jagger is faster than any other horse than what most people have seen and can easily outrun a train, even over long distances.
