He started hitting the streets of Gotham during the Battle for the Cowl, at first killing criminals in the name of God. Soon however, he went mad and killed an undercover police officer before being captured and subsequently dying; a victim of the Suit of Sorrows. After seeing his failures, the Order or Purity chose Michael Lane to be the next Azrael.
