After Etrigan incapacitated Ragman, Nightmaster, Detective Chimp, and Enchantress, Blue Devil decided to recruit some new members on temporary basis. He was one of the people in the Oblivion Bar who joined the Shadowpact to get Blue Devil’s Trident back. In the bar he said he was a powerful ghost but couldn’t go toe to toe with the Spectre. When they went to Hell, Laura asked if he was going to help. He then said he was he was going through the demon minds to find their fears. He figured out that all the demons were afraid of angels so he created a flight of angels. When they returned to the bar and Etrigan attacked, Eli turned him to stone. He freed Laura from Etrigan’s grasp.
