Adrian Mortte

At some undisclosed point in the past, Adrian’s parents–Heinrich Mortte and her unidentified mother–were transformed into vampires by the self-styled “Lord of the Undead,” Count Dracula. Heinrich had created a projector which could instantly restore some semblance of life to the deceased, and Dracula wanted its power to raise for himself an army of the undead. To keep the vampire lord from his discovery, Heinrich’s wife was apparently killed for his efforts. Still, he hid the projector from Dracula and concealed his own undead nature from his daughter and the citizens of the London neighborhood where they lived. As she grew older, Adrian assisted her father in his medical practice.

Years later, after being poisoned by Quincy Harker, Dracula sought out Mortte for assistance. the vampire lord compelled Heinrich Mortte to help him recover and to lead him to the projector. Adrian was praying at her mother’s grave when her father and Dracula arrived at the cemetery to test the device. The revenants raised by the projector immediately set upon her, but Adrian managed to elude them while her father and Dracula battled in the air in bat form. While Dracula killed Heinrich Mortte, impaling him on a wrought-iron fence, the projector was destroyed. A heartbroken Adrian wept over her father’s body.

Adrian Mortte has made no subsequent appearances.
