Origin
Ahsoka Tano was discovered/rescued by Jedi Master Plo Koon during a mission to the planet Shili. Ahsoka was abandoned by her parents and was left to live by herself on the outskirts of her city. When attacked by a native beast of her planet, Plo acted quickly to save her. Only being three years old at the time, Plo Koon could sense the Force in her and raised Ahsoka as his own child in the Jedi Temple. Years later after numerous training exercises, Ahsoka Tano reached the title of “Padawan” before most force wielders. Sensing great excitement and brashness like Anakin Skywalker, Yoda temporarily made Anakin a Jedi Master and let Ahsoka Tano be his apprentice.
Creation
Ahsoka Tano was created for the movie and animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, to be Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan. The movie served as the introduction of Ahsoka Tano, and the series was the continuation of where the movie left off. Ahsoka was a major character in both movie and animated series and acted as the eyes in which younger viewers could see the Clone Wars, as stated by Dave Filoni, the movie and show’s director. Originally before both the movie and the show came out, Ahsoka was going to be the unknown daughter of Togruta Jedi Master, Shaak Ti. This was the original thought that David Filoni and writer Henry Gilroy first came up with. However, with careful planning and many concept ideas on how Ahsoka would turn out, she eventually became what she looks like today. George Lucas states that Ahsoka Tano was 11-years-old when the Clone Wars began, and 14-years-old when Jedi Master Anakin Skywalker took her as his Padawan.
Character Evolution
Ahsoka Tano is the Padawan of the “Chosen One” Jedi Knight/Master Anakin Skywalker. Ahsoka is a Torgrutas from the planet Shili, and acted as the Padawan of Anakin during the Clone Wars. She was assigned to Anakin by Jedi Grand master Yoda. Ahsoka Tano has proved to be a great Jedi, she has single handedly taken down many of the Republic’s/Jedi enemies like Aurra Sing, and has helped establish a on/off peace treaty between the Hutt Family. Wise like Obi-Wan, but brash and wild like Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka is a combination of both the two Jedi’s. Due to her having many characteristics like both Jedi’s.
Ahsoka is blue eyed, orange skinned Torgruta. She (like most Torgrutas) are aggressive. Ahsoka doesn’t always take “no” for an answer because of her relationship with her master, Anakin. However when it counts, she does know when to make a plan go into action. While trying to stray away from the Torgrutas beliefs, Ahsoka has used violence and fear to get answers to certain information. Jedi Master Luminara Unduli sought that Ahsoka’s intentions were for good, but those actions could lead her to the Dark Side! Throughout the many battles and death traps that Anakin and Ahsoka have been in, her future has been noticed. It is said if Ahsoka doesn’t stop being the Apprentice of Anakin – he will eventually seduce/draw her to the Dark Side.
