Banished to the Nether Realms, the demon lord Akuma took the body of Senzo Gesshin in feudal Japan to kill Japanese Christians. He was expelled when his host was killed by Avengelyne and Shi’s ancestor Yuri.
Akuma later returned in Senzo’s ancestor Kudaru, who planned his revenge on Avengelyne, now in mortal form. She was possessed by Akuma, but Shi rescued her and helped Avengelyne expel the demon from her body. Avengelyne was able to kill the demon with her righteous blade.
