Ruby was the only sister of Eleanor Higgins. Once a simple and poor woman, Eleanor entered the Company as an employee and soon became one of its managers. Each of the twelve men who founded the company donated their semen to make Eleanor pregnant, so when a girl was born, nobody knew who among them was the real father, and they all considered the girl to be their sister.
While her mother called her Ruby, her twelve fathers gave her the name Aleph. When she was 18 years old they unanimously decided to put the company in her hands.
