Alexander Bumstead

When baby Alexander Bumstead was introduced to the newspaper comic strip Blondie in 1934 he became the first baby born to a pair of comic characters and as such caused a sensation with the announcement making it to the front page of many papers.

Called Baby Dumpling at first the character also became a toy sensation, this continued until he reached the age of around 10 (in the first years of the strip the characters all aged at a normal rate) and started to be called Alexander, he and the other Bumsteads stopped aging when Alexander and his sister reached their teen years.
