Ananka debuted in the 1940 Universal film The Mummy’s Hand, which was a very loose remake of the 1932 film that had starred Boris Karloff.
Ananka is an Egyptian princess, she is Kharis’ eternal love. The name Ananka resembles Ankh-esen-amun from the 1932 film.
Ananka was played by Ramsay Ames in The Mummy’s Ghost (1944), by Virginia Christine in The Mummy’s Curse (1944) and by Yvonne Furneaux in the Hammer Horror version of The Mummy in 1959.
