Andacanavar

In the Demon Wars world of Corona, created by R.A. Salvatore, Andacanavar was born a barbarian in the Harsh winter north land of Alpinador.  He was raised and trained by the Touel’ alfar elves in their homeland Andur’ Blough Inninness, the Valley of Mist.  Andacanavar began his Ranger training at the age of eight enduring harsh physical and psychological training from the elves.  For thirteen years Andacanavar trained with magical gemstones, learned elven philosophies, survival skills, and swordsmanship in the form of “Bi’nelle dasada“, the dangerous elven sword dance.  The dance is complimented by his enormous sword “Icebreaker”, the largest sword ever crafted of silverel and enchanted with magical gems by the elves.

Andacanavar makes his first comic appearance in “Trial by Fire“, a newly trained elven Ranger returning to his homeland.  He is not well received back into his world, even being referred to as a demon by some of his people who are by nature distrustful magic.  When the daughter of an Alpinadorian Chieftan is kidnapped by a group of giants to be used as a sacrifice to revive the demon lord of vengence and war, Managarm, Andacanavar encounters an abellican monk named Moira who was on a mission to Alpinador to convert the Barbarians to the Abellican Church and the use of gemstone magic.  They form a companionship with Byggvir the Alpinadorian Chieftan, Abbot Greene of the Abellican Order, and a powrie named Grave Mungo to rescue Byggvir’s daughter Elene.  In a battle with Frost Giants and Managarm using the body of Elene, Moira is killed, but in return Elene is saved.  The Frost Giants home is destroyed and the events that unfolded helped to begin the bridge between the Barbarians of Alpinador and their acceptance of magic and the people who used it.  Andacanavar’s watchful eye and great sword Icebreaker are never far from sight, protecting unknowing people in Alpinador from the evil inhabitants of Corona.
