Origin
Andrea Brand was the superintendent at Starfleet Academy. She presided over the hearing in the death of Cadet Joshua Albert. Cadet Wesley Crusher was almost expelled for his involvement.
Creation
Andrea Brand was created in the Star Trek: The Next Generation television show. In the show she was never given a first name although script notes gave her the name Andrea. In Marvel Comics and in the Star Trek card game Andrea was established as her first name.
