Andrew

Origin

Years ago in Milwaukee, Andrew met Matt at Coolio Beans Coffee Shop. Seeing Matt display his mutant abilities, Andrew left him a newspaper with an ad circled wanting super-humans and mutants. Andrew lined up a gig for Matt to impersonate Mr. Fantastic at Water Wizard‘s birthday party. From there, Andrew lined up similar jobs for other villains and children of C.E.O.’s. Andrew and Matt began a personal relationship amidst their business relationship. Eventually, Matt wanted to be a real superhero and put his powers to good use. Matt said he would call himself Flatman and Andrew could be Paperboy. Andrew didn’t believe that was realistic and left Matt. Later, after Matt really had become Flatman (and Dr. Val Ventura, Man of Science) and joined the Great Lakes Avengers (and later became it’s team leader), Andrew received a box in the mail addressed to Paperboy filled with newspapers about the exploits of Flatman and the GLA. On one of the newspapers was written: “Sidekick Still Wanted. Consider This A Tip. XOXO – VAL”

Creation

Andrew was created by Zac Gorman and Will Robson and first appeared in Great Lakes Avengers #3.
