Pre-Crisis
Angry Charlie made a few appearances during the Bronze Age but was unseen for a long time until after the Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Post Crisis
After Crisis on Infinite Earths, Angry Charlie appeared around project Cadmus with nobody knowing who he was and only the Newsboy Legion member, Gabby, knew about him. He tried to get his friends and others to believe him but no one did. His fellow Newsboy members even teased him about a giant pinkish monster who eats wooden furniture. Despite this, he continued to leave wooden furniture out for him to eat and, as such, Angry Charlie became close to the Newsboy Legion. He would follow them and help them when they needed it but no one ever saw him.
Eventually, Angry Charlie did reveal himself to the Newsboy Legion and defended them against Boss Moxie and the Female Furies.
